Congresswoman Johnson Announces $4.5 Million Grant to Children's Medical Center Dallas
DALLAS, TX – Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant totaling $4,598,673 to the Children’s Medical Center Dallas for their Children’s Graduate Medical Education Program.
“It is with great pleasure that I announce that the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas will receive additional funding for their Children’s Hospital Graduate Medical Education program to assist them in the training of the next generation of medical professionals. The Children’s Medical Center is an outstanding medical institution, which helps families by providing critical and life-saving care for our children,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “The impact that this organization has had on our community is truly immeasurable, and I congratulate them on receiving this funding.”
Children’s Health trains more than 250 pediatric residents and fellows in a given year and hosts more than 840 residents and fellows who are completing their pediatric rotations. The Children’s Hospital Graduate Medical Education program helps offset a portion of the graduate medical education training program at Children’s Health, which trains the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric specialists to meet the growing health care needs in North Texas.
