Congresswoman Johnson Announces $2,655,841 Federal Grant to the City of Dallas for Dallas Love Field Airport
DALLAS, TX – Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded a grant to the City of Dallas totaling $2,655,841 for the purpose of taxiway rehabilitation and reconstruction at Dallas Love Field Airport.
“As a senior Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I will continue to ensure that the City of Dallas and Dallas Love Field Airport receive the infrastructure investments needed to provide top quality services for my constituents and others in the North Texas region."
Mark Duebner, the Director of Aviation for the City of Dallas, added the following:
"Dallas Love Field is appreciative of the Airport Improvement Program, and the award of over $2.6 million to the airport. These funds will be used to improve Taxiways at Love Field, and will result in a safer, more efficient airfield. With over 14 million square feet of pavement, these grants funds are essential to operating and maintaining the entire airfield for an improved passenger experience.”
This grant will provide federal funding for the Dallas Love Field Airport to rehabilitate 4,000 feet of the existing Taxiway B needed to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement. The grant also funds the final phase of construction and reconstructs 7,500 feet of the existing Taxiway C pavement that has reached the end of its useful life.
