Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson is a Democrat who proudly represents the 30th Congressional District of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. First elected to Congress in November 1992, and is currently serving her 13th term in the United States House of Representatives. Congresswoman Johnson was elected as the first African-American and the first female Ranking Member of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Washington, DC – Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson today voiced her opposition to the Trump Administration’s announcement that it will argue in court that the protections in the Affordable Care Act for individuals with pre-existing conditions should be struck down. Approximately 11,579,100 Texans have pre-existing conditions, according to the Center for American Progress.
